Rasa Theory "Assemblage"
The term" Rasa" is a Sanskrit word that is borrowed in several languages across the world. The term itself means "sap, juice (of trees), liquor, drink, taste or flavor." Rasa also stands for the taste or inclination of things that bring you aesthetic pleasure (desire, passion, emotion, and feeling). Rasa is a necessary factor in the artistic compositions of the visual arts, performance, dance, poetry and cooking.
When talking about a work of art, be it painting, sculpture, music, poem or drama, we often judge it as fulfilling the requirement of Rasa. In this respect the quality of 'Rasa' belongs to the work of art. If a piece of art does not have the proper combination of work and concept, the piece of art is seen as colorless and without flavor. It lacks the chemistry needed to be effective and moving. The Rasa is the product of the artist, the process and the viewer.
In human emotions there are nine basic and central emotions which in good combinations, create passion, desire and satisfaction. These are what constitute the artist and influence the art processes. The viewer then translates all of this through his or her own Rasa and receives pleasure or satisfaction from the sharing,
